What Pope Leo the 14th should do in my opinion is revoke all these heterodox or near heterodox documents? Unity with the Orthodox will suffer as long as Rome clings to heterodoxy - near or far.
After so many years of pastoral methodology, it appears very clearly in the issue of homosexuality:
In traditional doctrine, homosexuality is a mortal sin, a sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance. In this "Yes Yes No No" perspective, there is room for traditional dialogue that begins with exhortation to abandon one's life, to conversion. However, there is no room for modern dialogue, because it demands the suspension of Church doctrine. Thus, the exhortatory language of conversion and penance is replaced by a blessing (Fiducia Supplicans). From the moment one begins to bless those who should be freed, there is no more sin (just as there is no more hell). And what began as conversation, acceptance, and mercy ends with a doctrinal change in the name of pastoral methodology, but what is this methodology? The pastor must feed, guide, protect, and save his sheep. This is not what we see in this methodology.
Beware of Vatican-officials-suspected-of-heresy bearing honeyed words … when Fernandez offers to withdraw Fiducia Supplicans, then and only then, should the Orthodox and Copts begin dialogue with the Vatican … but, wait… Fr James Martin has all the big money donors on the left lined up to promote LGBTQQIP2SAA+ in the Catholic Church! So the Vatican must say “no!” to this “ecumenism of hate”!
While the Vatican will likely continue to fudge the SG9 debacle, it seems to me that the outreach to the Orthodox world is more about optics than substance. No movement on Fiducia Supplicans and another assault on tradition through SG5 - the direction of travel could not be clearer. Push the boundaries, change attitudes, call it a «paradigm shift», and make special arrangements for the Catholics left behind by the revolution.
On the whole, these "ecumenical dialogues" are not a solution to the current crisis. I opine that the good bishops need to do something definitive to solve the Bergoglian-Prevostian crisis.
What people need to understand and accept is that Francis didn't create all this chaos in one day...or even one year. Give the new pope time to wade through all the muck. He is one man, facing all the demons that still inhabit the Vatican. Pray for him. Give him your sincere prayers for courage, fortitude and wisdom.
Marge, my prayers for Leo follow my every rosary but I pray for his conversion to the one, true, holy Catholic and apostolic Church and to admonish all heresies against her. The Holy Spirit’s gifts of wisdom, courage, fortitude (and more) will come only to those who confess true belief in Jesus Christ and to the Church He gave to His apostles and disciples. The Church that was grown on the blood soaked ground of the early martyrs and saints, not the new synodal church of the 21st century.
As Pope, Leo commands the ultimate authority and could have quickly turned the Bergolian sinking ship around with a papal decree but lacks the courage of the Holy Spirit. Yes, pray for Leo but pray for his complete conversion.
Have a care when praying for the pope in that manner. You and I do not have the authority to presume he is not Catholic. This comes close to a sin against the Holy Spirit.
And I disagree vehemently that he "could have quickly turned" things around with a "papal decree." He is surrounded by the cesspool that Benedict XVI faced. He MUST maneuver carefully and thoroughly and it won't happen in one year, not by a. long shot.
I pray that the Holy Spirit is generous in showering him with It's gifts and grace. He'll need all of that and God's blessing to right the Barque of Peter.
I hear you, Pascal, but I wouldn’t make fun of the Copts’ vestments.
They represent a centuries-old tradition, which they actually seem to respect, value and protect, compared to the Catholic Church which seems to put less and less value on any tradition.
Traditionalist Catholics probably have more in common with Copts today than with most modernists or the Fr. Martin types.
The Coptic Orthodox have suffered terrible persecucion over many centuries. Their solid faith in spite of being the victims of murderous attacks is a shining witness which puts the homosexualist activists behind FS and the recent report to shame. As for me I am saddened and deeply ashamed on behalf of the homosexualist activists behind FS and the recent report. They seem to think that they have the right to push down their homosexual agenda down our throats. They won't succeed. Ever.
Just In today :The Official Statement of Holy Synod of Coptic Orthodox Church(which is available on its website):"The members of the Holy Synod decided to resume theological dialogue with the Catholic Church following the assurances regarding the non-blessing of same-sex couples, which were expressed during the telephone conversation between His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on Friday, May 15 of this year"
For the Catholic or any Christian Church to bless same sex unions is folly. To believe that Almighty God will also bless these unions is absurd at best. There are so many Scriptures between the Old and New Testament condemning this kind of behavior, that you would have to be a fool not to realize that God opposes this practice. And the reason why there are so many Scriptures condemning this behavior is because God wants you to realize what is going to happen to those that do embrace it. You’ve been Warned multiple times.
Unfortunately, many Churches do the same thing regarding abortion. They pay lip service to their opposition to abortion, but don’t expel pro-abortion politicians. They even bless them with Holy Communion. And they are going down the same road with homosexuality. They will say that they oppose it while blessing same sex unions. They say that they oppose homosexuality but don't expel homosexual advocates. They even bless them with Holy Communion. These people are Heretics. The blind leading the blind to the gates of hell and beyond.
St. Catherine of Siena as Seen in Her Letters.
To Gregory X1.
“I say, then; if he is a prelate, he does ill, because to avoid falling into disfavour with his fellow-creatures … holy justice dies in him. For he sees his subjects commit faults and sins, and pretends not to see them and fails to correct them;or if he does correct them, he does it with such coldness and lukewarmness that he does not accomplish anything, but plasters vice over; and he is always afraid of giving displeasure or of getting into a quarrel. All this is because he loves himself.”
“I say that this is the very worst cruelty which can be shown. If a wound when necessary is not cauterized or cut out with steel, but simply covered with ointment, not only does it fail to heal, but it infects everything, and many a time death follows from it.”
“Oh me, weeping I say it! How dangerous is that worm we spoke of! For not only does it give death to the Shepherd, but all the rest fall into sickness and death through it.”
“But such men do as Christ says; for if one blind man guide the other, both fall into the ditch. Sick man and physician fall into hell. Such a man is a right hireling Shepherd, for, far from dragging his sheep from the hands of the wolf, he devours them himself.”
St. Hilary’s Homilies on the Psalms.
“Happy is the man then who hath not walked in this kind of counsel of the ungodly, nay, who has not even entertained the wish to walk therein, for it is a sin even to think for a moment of things that are ungodly.”
“For there are many whose confession concerning God, while it acquits them of ungodliness, yet does not set them free from sin; those, for example, who abide in the Church but do not observe her laws … the greedy, the drunken … hypocrites, liars …”
The following are just a few of the Many Scriptures, that “churches leaders” who have not excommunicated pro-abortion and pro-homosexual politicians, have chosen to Disobey and Ignore.
James 1:22 “Be doers of the word and not just hearers who only deceive themselves.“
Acts 5:29 “Peter and the other apostles replied, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’”
Gn. 9: 5 “For your blood, that is, your life, I will require an accounting. I will require it of every living creature, and I will require it of every human in regard to other humans, each person for his brother.”
And now you know the problem that those are going to have who only pay lip service to their opposition to abortion.
So the Vatican panics and wants to talk to Coptic’s but screw the SSPX huh?
Normalizing perversion is at the top of the list for the Vatican.
Two faced. Anything goes except the Catholic faith.
They have to admit that the reason serious Christians outside common won't join us because of these heresies

Why not “revive” talks with the SSPX, who are actually CATHOLIC???
Hold fast Coptic brother in Christ✝️☦️

There are some people I would not allow in my house regardless of collar and notoriety because they are enemies of the cross of Christ!!!

Maybe us at SSPX should wear funny hats to have the Pope meeting us ?
