You lost me at “synodal discernment”.

I admire your resilience; she lost me at Leo XIV (aka Francis II.)

Indeed. Eyes crossed. Gobbledygook…

Here we go. "Exactly what IS a family? A man and a woman? A man and four women? Two men? Two men and a great ape? Who are we to judge?"

The faithful disciples of Our Lord Saviour and King Jesus Christ whom was clear about what a family is, one man, one women and a child or children

“Mothers and brothers”, in other words exactly as I just defined it - cute you lean into a quote that Protestants use to diminish Our Lady as well.

Yes I hate evil. Yes I hate sin. Yes I hate liars who damn souls to Hell. This is righteous and Holy to do so.

Darrell Goodliffe's avatar

Typical modernist Satanic liar - I never mentioned you I was commenting on your use of Scripture but since you are a child of Satan you are of course going to lie

Prodigal's avatar

Why ... it's the Family of Mankind! As Francis the First (and hopefully the last of his kind) said: "todos, todos, todos".

Carl's avatar

I shared in your hope - until we got Francis 2.0 (aka, Leo).

Prodigal's avatar

Yeah, I kinda realized when posting my comment that … well, exactly as you say. In fact, I’m almost convinced Leo is worse. If one can imagine that. Because Francis was easy to despise, but Leo does his Mister Rogers impersonation. So most of the sheep just think he’s all rainbows and unicorns. I hardly even follow anymore what Prevost or his gang of freemasons and sodomites do in Rome. Because there is no news, and will not be anything new. Their agenda is to destroy the faith and the Catholic Church. And of course they will fail. Betting against the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is something only very low IQ people attempt.

Carl's avatar

Agreed! Needless to say that those who thought (and, amazingly STILL think!) that Bergoglio was a good pope, think that Bob is an excellent one; an answer to prayers!

I believe it was John-Henry (LifeSite News) who first expressed that he (Bob) is the worst thing that could have happened to the Church; a sly as a serpent, silver-tongued lawyer who is really Francis on steroids!

Please don't for a second write off those who want to destroy the Church as stupid (low I.Q.)! They are being led by the Prince of Darkness - and his evil must NEVER be underestimated! That, I firmly believe, is exactly how he wants us to think!

God bless, and please pray for our Church - and the pope🙏

Frank Hannon's avatar

Well, based on his episcopal appointments, Leo most certainly IS rainbows; that much you have to give him.

Prodigal's avatar

Yes indeed, he seems to be squarely in the rainbow camp :) What else can be expected in today’s Rome?

“Pope Leo framed the upcoming gathering as a continuation of the 'synodal' process, emphasizing 'mutual listening' among Church leaders and attentiveness to the lived experiences of families.”

Jesus did not commission the apostles to go out and listen to all the nations and see what you can learn from each other.

Jesus commissioned the apostles to go out and “make disciples of all nations teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

This latter fact is twisted by the ill-formed, modernist, synodal Church leadership of today.

John Raymond's avatar

They are not ill formed. Satan has been guiding them for deczdes.

You are ill formed

Fr. Beatus Vir's avatar

Synodal discernment and listening = Yuck! More blather, more talking in circles, more walking and talking and listening together, more BS together! Pope Leo XIV = the Disaster Pope Francis' agenda put into practice with a smile and good manners and a few bits and pieces of traditional garb and smoke! So the destructive disaster of the dastardly Francis continues. No thanks! I reject the "new synodal church! I believe in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church - you know, the One Tue Church founded and sustained by our Lord Jesus Christ until He comes again in Glory. Laudetur Iesus Christus, nunc et semper!

John Raymond's avatar

Actually you don't Beatus. You think Vatican II Church is Catholic church.

If Satan dressed up as Jesus and started 70 year mockery of Jesus, you'd accept him as Jesus.

Pretty much 85% making comments here, and 100% of SSPX would also

Sede Mouse's avatar

Ack. My first thought is that the definition of family is going to be broadened for the sake of “synodal discernment.”

Kyrie eleison.

There might indeed be a difference in culpability between a person who’s abandoned by a spouse and living with another person from a home wrecker who’s living with another person, but that is known only to God. Pastors must not be invited to venture into that inner forum with “pastoral” judgments. Their only source of information is incomplete and biased, and the discernment is above their pay grade. Their obligation is to warn the person that he/she is living in sin, to repent and to believe the Gospel.

John Raymond's avatar

Most "annulments" are actually a bogus permission to commit adultery. (I have sign that says this, and I hold it outside churches in union with Prevost-

Not Catholic in any way.

Catholic Church, Pope was willing to lose England over this.

Fred's avatar

The point of pastors is not to find loopholes to the moral teachings of the Church, but tell people to abandon immoral relationships. The only “Josephite” marriage with any credibility, apart from those with severe disabilities, is in the Gospel. Otherwise, you’re inviting people to lie to their pastors. Even impotent couples can find ways to express some form of sexual intimacy (the legitimacy of which can be discussed elsewhere).

AnotherAnon's avatar

There's no point to pastors if they don't make judgements like that. If a couple says they are in a Josephite marriage/situation, then it's okay to believe them. Ultimately it's on the couple if they are lying to priests, not the priest.

Lydia Davidson's avatar

Holding Christ hostage that's what this is. Christ is very clear that divorce and remarriage are against His will. If people reject His will, why do they want to receive Him? What about the rights of God? There's nothing to discuss. We are mere creatures, how is the Creator being honored by permitting people to live in adultery?

Delta Houston's avatar

I'm not sure Jesus said anything more literal and clear than what He said about divorce. This counterintuitive hubris disguising itself as "pastoral"ism, is wild.

Fr. Beatus Vir's avatar

You (John Raymond) know what I and others unknown to you think? I doubt it very much! I am a cancelled priest and I have been around a for a while fella. There is only One Church of Jesus Christ that has survived much travail and persecution through out the ages - from without and within. Why? Because it is sustained by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The is no such thing as "Vatican II Church". There is the Catholic Church since Vatican II which was/deeply flawed and has wounded the Church/Body of Christ. Vatican II is just one Church Council (21since AD325) among many in the history of the Church and in time (known only to God) it will be seen as a failed Council for the most part. The Church is much more than the sum of her Councils or straying sinful members or mind-readers like you. The SSPX are in the vanguard of upholding, defending and teaching/preaching Jesus Christ and His Church as well the being the final solution to Vatican II.

Also, how dare you make the statement that you made above regarding "satan" and what I and others do or would do. Make sure that is is not yourself that is duped and misled. Christus Vincit! Christus Regnat! Christus Imperat! ab omni malo plebem suam defendat! Laudetur Iesus Christus, nunc et semper!

John Raymond's avatar

If Glorious Spanish Inquisition existed, not one Vatican II Bishop or false pope or SSPX bishop , except if they have repented publicly from heresy of all heresies , modernism, and its full embodiment of Vatican II church is Catholic Church, would escape burning at stake.

I'd offer my back yard

Under Leo, as with Francis, Holy Mother Church is NO longer "Mater et Magister" (Mother and Teacher). The teaching authority - the Magisterium - is now confirmed to a listening role. It seems the Bride of Christ is now the "Listening Church." A Synodal Church, as it listens to what the Spirit is telling modern man - and what modern man believes the Spirit is telling him. It was a nice 2,000 - year run, but now in eclipse - as Bishop Sheen so eloquently stated so many years ago.

John Raymond's avatar

Faithless Bill. You look to a whore, and then attack Holy Mother Church. Better get this right before your final judgement

AnotherAnon's avatar

The listening Church is only the reason the Missal of 1962 even exists in the Roman Rite.

Bill Zupancic's avatar

I'm not certain that I even understand what your comment means.

AnotherAnon's avatar

I mean all the older rites that are floating around, including the “TLM”, only exists because the Church listens. It’s not terrible that the Church listens. They aren’t changing doctrine because they try to respond to people where they are.

Delta Houston's avatar

I see "reductive" and it reads "essential."

Knowing who else monitors this blog, I can't speak openly, but I can tell you that the Church can't even begin to discuss this because it doesn't even address the needs of conventional young families to which it offers so much lipservice and so little support. Any of them could tell you - who do not involve themselves in a parish for activistic or financial opportunities - that the priest is good for a friendly greeting and a smile at their children. But in the real world in the socioeconomic reality of even the richest countries, there is no commitment, no obligation, no offer, not even curiosity, not even the chance to know, the situation and needs of the family. The family is on its own. The family is quiet in the church and hides from pastoral attention to limit the risk of cutting off the only thing the Church uniquely offers - the Sacraments - because of some political opinion that aligns with perennial Church teaching. Support is one way - the Church asks it from the families, unless the families have already sacrificed their children to a Catholic school system already corroded by the non-Catholic society and its vices. In America, only criminal foreigners have the kind of real support that the Church would offer to its people in a hostile society. Americans are always expected to make it on their own.
