As for transhumanism, of course a case can be made for it (you can make a case for anything), but I'm wondering, how is transhumanism different from the wraiths? You know, the Ringwraiths: slaves of the One Ring.

There is a definitely an undertone of Teilhard de Chardin in this encyclical as it appears to deem the primary mission of the Church to integrate all mankind into some kind of organic whole around some kind of central humanity of Jesus rather than the salvation of souls. In fact, I suspect that, in so far as there is a coherent theological narrative behind everything that has come from the Vatican since Benedict's resignation (as opposed to a series of ad hoc justifications for moves by various decidedly worldly minded factions in the hierarchy) it is the story unfolded in the Phenomenon of Man and the Divine Milieu. People tend to forget just how central 'the cause of Teilhard' was to 'right thinking and educated' Catholics and prelates in the years immediately and preceding and then during V2.
The coherence of the theological anthropology in Antiqua et Nova in 2025 - Note on the Relationship Between Artificial Intelligence and Human Intelligence is one necessary complement and could have been reflected more within the Encyclical. It is a good sign that the Marian presence is reflected in the document. That Leo chose his name for the reasons he did and issued the Encyclical on the anniversary of Rerum Novarum is significant. I am glad to see transhumanism and posthumanism mentioned. But there are people apparently in the Church claiming we are posthuman already, cyborgs and hybridised. The Catholic Church has the strongest defence of the human available in its Magisterium following on from the Incarnation. The superstructure of the AI culture we are entering has the insidious capacity to excise any possibilities of having any real agentic choices in the future. People are being forced into networks, forcibly 'included' and the admirers of Teilhard de Chardin's pseudo-scientific replacement theology supports this in a false spirit of liberation from traditional, coherent theology. The greatest difficulty is the inability to extricate humans now from the 'net' and 'web' that emanate from calculated construction of a comprehensive system. of containment. The technological ratchet makes a macro-system that moves in a direction of practical inescapability wherein micro-decisions are otiose. We must address the pervasiveness problem posed by convergence - the elite techno-policy Teilhard presented as a scientific principle.
Donald Trump authorized this war against Iran because it is according to him a terrorist sponsoring state. So is this a just or unjust war on the part of the U.S.A. and Israel?
Who cares -- what difference does this make while he is condoning sodomy and greatly offending Our Lord - and leading many souls to hell! This encyclical costs him nothing - he does not have to stand up against the heresy that is eating away at the clergy and therefore the whole Church! This encyclical is nothing more than a distraction and window dressing to gaslight TRAD INC - and others who are willfully blind to the destruction he is perpetrating on the Church through the latest synodal documents for sections 7 and 9. WAKE up - do not be fooled!

I wasn't impressed with the logical coherence of his document on poverty (though some good persons said the moral message there was good, and maybe they are right) But with Mary's help, God can give Leo to the coherence to state the pertinent facts and the persuasiveness to impact hearts. Hopefully he does.
